SEMINAR
Thursday 22nd February 2018, 6pm
Islamic Finance and the English Court
at
TT International, 62 Threadneedle Street, London
Speaker: Scott Morrison
Financial services purporting compliance with shari‘a (Islamic law) comprise a rapidly growing and increasingly valuable sector in UK and global markets. Because English law and courts are frequently preferred by investors, issuers, and borrowers in these transactions (irrespective of place of contractual performance), this sector has special significance for English lawyers as it has also for the City of London at large. This presentation analyses the evolution of the case law and the market in shari‘a compliant financial services in and from the United Kingdom.
Followed by drinks and networking
